2. APSE Energy briefing notes – 8/15 Changes to financial subsidies for ground mount solar PV schemes and 9/15 Summary of Government policy changes on green energy
There has been a plethora of activity by the Government since the General Election in May on the energy front with key announcements and policy changes on whole range of policies from wind and solar subsidies to zero carbon homes. Briefing 8/15 looks in detail at the changes proposed by the Government to the Renewable Obligation for solar farms of 5MW and under, together with other changes to pre-accreditation for FITs which impact on many council projects. The paper discusses the options and tactics that local authorities can adopt in response to the proposed changes which are still at the consultation stage with the consultation closing on 2 September. Briefing 9/15 takes a broader look at some of the important changes introduced by the Government to the green agenda since returning to power.
